THE DATA PROTECTION ACT


The Data Protection Act 1998 implements the EU Data Protection Directive (No. 95/46) in the United Kingdom.  The Data Protection Directive is effective across the European Economic Area.  

The 1998 Act provides for regulation of the processing of information relating to personal data (data about living people through which they may be individually identified).  It regulates the processing of information which, in the case of Carneco means; our own staff, clients who are individuals or partnerships (not limited companies) and details of potential client individuals whose information may be stored on our database.

The Act's requirements extend to relevant personal data obtained and stored by Carneco and the organization, retrieval, use, disclosure or destruction of such data.

Carneco has taken the necessary steps needed to comply with the data protection principles contained in the Data Protection Act 1998.

Carneco does not capture or store any personal information about individuals who access this website, except where they voluntarily choose to give us their personal details by email or by registering with us. In these cases, the personal information given is used strictly within the provisions of the Data Protection Act 1998.

Relevant company information and contact details will be stored on our database and used to facilitate the search for appropriate personnel or other services which you have asked us to provide or search for.

Personal data will be kept up to date wherever reasonably possible and will be kept no longer than necessary for the purposes for which it is processed and authorized for use. If at any time you wish to have us delete, update or amend the details we hold about you, please advise us.

Should you purchase any of our services, we may require to hold pertinent financial details about your company for financial and accounting purposes.

We must advise you that, in some circumstances, information may be transmitted to our affiliated companies, for use only by authorized staff in connection with Carneco Foods Ltd.s business activities. Unless notified otherwise, we assume your consent is given.
